Attorney Emily Petrole
The practice of family law involves a spectrum of circumstances unlike any other field. Emily has had the privilege of sharing in some of the happiest moments in families’ lives, such as the adoption of a child or getting much deserved custody for a grandparent. Conversely, she has seen others encounter among the most difficult moments in their lives, like a highly contested divorce. In most cases, emotions run high, and the process can be taxing for all parties involved. Emily knows the importance of striking a balance between being sympathetic and compassionate, as well as honest and upfront. This, coupled with her legal knowledge and experience, instills confidence in clients, allowing them to proceed with as little additional stress as possible.
As early as she could remember, Emily has looked for and loved taking on new challenges. Her early career is no exception. She has taken advantage of every opportunity to gain insight and experience in the field of family law, such as participating in her law school’s legal clinic with a family law focus, giving legal aid to families through the Family Youth Law Center, and externing in the Franklin County Domestic and Juvenile Court. On a more personal level, Emily has witnessed the impact of divorce on members of her family. Having seen firsthand their experiences with the process, Emily has dedicated her career to helping Ohioans navigate and understand the divorce and custody legal proceedings.
In addition to divorce and custody, Emily works on such matters as adoption, post-decree matters, child support, domestic violence, juvenile law, paternity, prenuptial agreements, asset division, and same sex family law.
In her free time, Emily enjoys hanging out with her sphynx cat, Quimbee. She is also an avid bird watcher and loves to be outdoors hiking, kayaking, or riding her motorcycle.
